Sad Pumpkin
Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 7:59AM My friend Coasting Anon (aka Mrs. Corn on Weddingbee) posted this sad picture on her FB page the other day. I think I commented something to the effect of "What the heck is the deal with spray painting everything white these days?!" and I have to say, I just don't get it.

Obviously I know this is a styling thing for the shoot, but it is a BAD styling thing. Such sad presents!
It reminded me of another trend I've seen floating around the blogosphere lately (and last year at this time, too), spray painting pumpkins white.

In my opinion, pumpkins and gourds are supposed to be bright & fun & natural! My other awesome WB friend (Mrs. Seashell), The Fix-Its, posted a Pinterest project that she did and I love that she used au natural pumpkins and gourds.
Here are some other great fall centerpieces found on Pinterest.

If you really must spray paint something, get creative!
Happy Fall, everyone!

Agreed!! I like orange. :)
I have to admit, I kinda like the look of white pumpkins, but I would NEVER spray paint one. There is a variety of pumpkin that grows a gorgeous natural creamy color - similar to a lot of squashes - but I totally agree with you re: painting them. If it's fake & from dollar store, that's one thing, but I wouldn't paint a real one.
I think white paint can be a cure-all for cabinets, old furniture, etc. but I agree with you to a point - I'm really over the trend of everything being painted Gray. It's great in moderation but lately it's all over the place & it's getting boring.
I agree! I love color and I love the orange pumpkins and colorful gords. Yesterday I purchased a couple mini pumpkins and gords to fill my 2 large vases on my dinning table. I love the color it added :)
I love the natural white pumpkins (probably not actual pumpkins, but they look like them), but I'd never spray paint one myself!
I should have added that I do like the natural white pumpkins :)
