A Shelf to Display the Insides of Books

If you're like me and love books full of gorgeous, glossy pages - whether of art, interiors, food or golf courses - you'll want to snap up a few of these ingenious bookshelves by Out of Stock Design.  They are a far more interesting display for your favorite coffee table books.  I have been on a clever bookshelf/storage kick lately and these are right at the top of my list.

A section of each shelf is dedicated to holding an open book.  You can flip to your favorite pages day after day, doubling as constantly changing artwork.  Brilliant!  I found them while browsing a blog that is dedicated to all things bookshelves.  I happen to love it, as I am constantly searching for clever storage solutions for clients and friends.

The support brackets are concealed with a white book-ish wrapping that doubles as bookends.  I love everything about this smart piece of furniture.

Clever Bike Storage for Small Spaces or Kids Room

I am loving this fun, clever bike shelf by Chris Brigham of Knife & Saw.  It's in the latest issue of Dwell which I usually only glance through each month, preferring to get my Dwell interiors fix with a side of humor on Unhappy Hipsters.  So, I am happy that I cracked open the magazine and saw this!

It doesn't hurt that the styling & photography are GORGEOUS.

It is made from solid wood and accommodates most bikes - they have a handy spec list so you can double check.

Perhaps because I have been on my death bed for 5 days (!), I am loving the thought of spring and bike rides (particularly on that sunny yellow number).  Anyone who has lived in a city and wrangled their bike in an apartment will appreciate this.  I also love that the rack doubles as a bookshelf & think it would look great in a boys bedroom.

They retail for around $300 and you can buy it here.
